NuGenImageWorks™
NuGenImageWorks is an application designed to be intuitive and inviting for both the novice and serious image manipulation
tool user. Built to provide most of the common and some advanced manipulative operational imaging features unfortunately
found amongst many disparate applications currently available. Unless or course you don't mind paying many hundreds of
dollars for an application that is indeed quite capable, yet which can be very complex for the standard user. NuGenImageWorks,
doesn't even scratch the surface of such applications. However what it does provide for; is a small, portable application
(Single file under 600K) with quite extensive image color and gradation manipulation capabilities, as well as some very
intriguing effect generators. All presented in a visually rich interface, and for a much more reasonable price. We are
confident you will agree with our description, so give it a try.
Usability
When first launching NuGenImageWorks you have two ways to start working with your images. One is simply to load a single image using the Start -> Load Image... option. The other is a directory thumbnail viewer. You will find this in the upper right hand area of the application interface. When using this option, simply select a directory, NuGenImageWorks will scan the directory for images and build both a visual thumbnail list, as well as a thumbnail file for faster access upon returning to that directory in the future. Once the thumbnail view is loaded, select any image and NuGenImageWorks will present you image within a dual pain view. The left image represents the original image; the right is the modified image. So, you can visually compare the original with the any current modifications being made. In the mid-section of the dual pain view is a hidden splitter. When moving your mouse above it, and selecting, then sliding your mouse right or left, you will find that either image can be zoomed against the other. As well, by double clicking on any image, left or right, that image will be centered into a single pain view.
Now that you have the idea as to its fundamental usage, go from tab to tab looking at the abundance of options available to you. From simple color adjustments and detailed adjustments to some really great effects, you can perform just about any alteration you desire. One special note is the preset tab. This allows you at anytime to capture and save all alterations made to a particular image. That can be applied against any other image. For example, you have a group of images that all need to be lightened or adjusted. Simply make your adjustments to a single image, save the preset, select a new image and then click the preset that is shown to you as a thumbnail of the image that it was created for initially. Presets can be any operation, from a simple contrast adjustment or a complicated set of steps that you would like to save and reapply and you can save unlimited preset files. As well, if you keep all of your presets in a single directory, NuGenImageWorks will load all of them using the same method that it does for thumbnails.
Below you will find many screenshots of both the interface as well as the output from some of the included operational effects and manipulation capabilities.
